I wanted to learn stranding to work with more than color and be able to do some more interesting designs and patterns. I made this very ugly hat as a practice piece just to learn the technique.
I dont think its ugly at all! I would be interested to see it on to see how it fits - but I think the pattern isn't horrible! I've seen alot worse out there!
It ain't ugly! Its pretty cool actually and I'm impressed at your progress with knitting Mason. I've not tried colour work / stranded work yet. I've got a pattern for Marvellous Mitts to try that with after I finish my Halcyon =D
I'm just a long haul trucker wandering the country hauling military vehicles, heavy machinery, and assorted other odds and ends.
I can usually be found knitting when parked at a truckstop some place.

Hmmm...years ago I worked at a clothing store and we had a few items that apparently crossed the border from "ugly" to "so ugly it's cool". Perhaps?
If not, well, no matter what it looks like it could keep someone warm and there's about a billion charities out there looking for donations!
LOL
I'm not too proud to wear my ugly hat. :D
No no, it's not ugly - it has personality ;)
LOL Thanks
It may something about me...but I don't think it is ugly at all. In fact, I think it looks great.
Thanks
I wouldn't call it ugly, I'd call it...interesting...
i concur with "anonymous." i like it!

is this done with the fair-isle method?
Not technically Fair Isle, but is stranding.
